Our Facility
For more than 75 years we, Gemstone manufacturer Herbert Stephan KG located near Idar-Oberstein, Germany has been supplying created und genuine gemstones to the jewelry industry. Our history is closely connected to the crafts of gemstone carving and engraving. We combine traditional craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technologies to create customized gemstone in serial production.
Source for our products are high quality materials, e.g. agates from Idar-Oberstein and hundreds of other semiprecious gemstones like mother-of-pearl, lapis, malachite, tiger eye, pink opal, pink chalcedony, turquoise, jasper, amethyst, citrine, or smoky quartz. We also specialize in machine-cut doublets or triplets, and created stones, which have the same physical and chemical characteristics as genuine stones. Already in the Sixties we started using machines to increase our production capacities and efficiency to fulfill our customers’ requests.
During the years we have constantly been developing our technologies further. We began to combine them with computer technologies in order to archive the maximum in precision in carving, drilling, laser and ultrasonic carving and engraving. Those technologies enable us to supply economically attractive gemstones as mass customized products. That is what we call serial individuality – always with the motivation to go the extra mile.
